Static residential IPs explained

What is a static residential IP?

A static residential IP is a residential-class address that stays assigned to you instead of rotating. Here is what that means for managed accounts and browser profiles.

Quick answer

A static residential IP is a residential network address permanently assigned to one buyer: every session leaves from the same residential IP until you release it.

One buyer per address
Same IP every session
Residential-class network
HTTP and SOCKS5 access

When this is the right fit

  • One buyer per address
  • Same IP every session
  • Residential-class network

Two-check test for staticness

  1. 1Run curl -x http://username:password@host:port https://api.ipify.org
  2. 2Note the returned address
  3. 3Repeat 24 hours later with the same command

Working connection

Both checks return the identical address: your endpoint is static.

Broken connection

A different address on the second check means the product rotates; confirm you bought static endpoints.

How the mechanism works

The provider provisions an address from a residential-class network and maps it to your account. Your client connects with ordinary HTTP or SOCKS5, and traffic exits from that address. Nothing rotates between sessions; the mapping persists until the subscription ends.

  • Assignment is exclusive: one customer, one address
  • Sessions persist across restarts because the address never changes
  • Country and city follow the address, not your device

How to verify you have one

Point any client at the endpoint and load an IP echo service. The reported address should be identical on every check across days. If the address changes between sessions, you are on a rotating product, not a static one.

What this means for account operations

Managed accounts and browser profiles accumulate history tied to an address. A static residential IP keeps that history consistent: logins, checks, and tasks always arrive from the same residential identity, which is exactly what one-profile-one-proxy mapping needs.

Frequently asked questions

Is a static residential IP the same as an ISP proxy?

They are closely related terms. NobleProxy uses 'dedicated static residential proxies' because it describes the two properties that matter: the address is residential-class and it stays assigned to you. NobleProxy is not an ISP-proxy provider in the hosting sense.

Does the IP ever change?

Not during your subscription. The address is yours until you release it, which is what keeps session history stable.

How do I test that my proxy is static?

Run curl -x http://username:password@host:port https://api.ipify.org twice, a day apart. The same returned address both times confirms a static assignment.
